Where to find skin sellers and how to lead them to a deal

Promotion

Your audience is CS2, Dota 2, Rust and TF2 players who have items and want to sell them. Below are working traffic sources, step-by-step plans and payback math.

Start: what to do#

Before driving traffic, make sure the shop is ready to receive it. Go through these in order:

  1. Prepare the domain and the site
The domain is added and opens, the design is set up. See Adding a domain› and Design›.
  2. Turn on support
Sellers will ask questions from day one. Set up support› and Telegram notifications› so you can answer fast.
  3. Walk the seller’s path yourself
Sign in to your own site through Steam and create a request. That way you understand what a person sees and can explain the process honestly in videos and posts.
  4. Pick a source and make a label
One or two channels from the list below. Give each its own traffic link›.
  5. Publish the first materials and watch the numbers
After a few days open the label statistics and decide what to repeat and what to change.

How the funnel works#

A seller’s path from the first touch to money is five steps. At each one some people drop off, so it is important to understand where exactly.

1. Reach10,000 saw the video or post2. Visit400 clicked the link3. Sign-in via Steam120 signed in4. Request40 submitted a request5. Deal25 completed the trade
Example diagram: the numbers are illustrative. See your own numbers for each step in the “Statistics” tab.
1Reach

A person sees your video, post or mention.

2Visit

Follows the link to your domain.

3Sign-in via Steam

Signs in to choose items.

4Request

Chooses items and submits a sell request.

5Deal

Completes the trade — you are credited your share.

Every step is visible in the traffic link› statistics: visits, sign-ins, requests, sales and the conversion between them. If there are many visits but few sign-ins, the problem is the design or trust in the site, not the source.

Traffic sources#

Each source has its own detailed page: how to start, what to publish, which labels to use and what to watch.

Do not try to cover everything at once. Choose one or two sources that fit your skills and bring them to a result.

Step-by-step plan#

If you are starting from scratch, proceed like this:

  1. Choose 1–2 platforms
Two regularly is better than six at random. Take the one where it is easiest for you to make content.
  2. Create a label for each source
One channel — one label. Without labels you will not know what brings sales. See Traffic links›.
  3. Publish 10–15 materials in one format
Do not judge the result by the first three. Algorithms and audiences need time.
  4. Review the statistics
Look at the funnel for each label. Many visits and few sign-ins — change the design. Many sign-ins and few requests — check that you explain the process honestly and clearly.
  5. Scale what works
More materials in the format that worked. Turn off or redo the weak sources.

When organic traffic works, you can boost it with money. Suitable options:

  • Ads in Telegram channels about games and skins are the most predictable format. Details — Telegram ads›.
  • Integrations with bloggers and streamers — a flat fee for a mention or a percentage of the result. See Bloggers› and Twitch›.
  • Platform ad accounts — many restrict the in-game items topic, so read the rules first and pass moderation.
Start with a small test: one platform, one creative, a separate label. If more came back than you spent, repeat and increase the budget.

Counting the payback#

To keep ads from going into the red, calculate three numbers:

  • Cost per visit = spent ÷ visits for the label.
  • Visits per deal = visits ÷ sales for the label.
  • Average income per deal — see the “Payouts” tab.
Example: you spent 3,000 ₽, got 600 visits and 12 sales. Cost per visit is 5 ₽, it takes 50 visits per deal, which means 250 ₽ of advertising. If you earn more than 250 ₽ per deal, the source pays off.

The numbers in the example are illustrative: yours will be different, so rely on your own statistics. A fuller hypothetical month is in the Worked example›.

Tips#

  • Regularity. Publish steadily and at the hours your audience is active.
  • The first seconds. A catchy start decides whether people watch to the end.
  • A clear call to action. Say plainly where the link is and that skins can be sold there.
  • Trust. Explain how the deal goes and show real reviews. Sellers hand over expensive items only to those they trust.
  • Support. Fast replies raise the share of completed deals — set up support› and the Telegram bot›.
  • Promo codes. A payout bonus for the seller is a strong argument in a call to action. See Promo codes›.

What not to do#

Follow platform rules: no view or follower boosting, no stolen or bought accounts, no spam in private messages and no promises the site does not keep. The result of such an approach is a banned channel and a block in ZFlow.
  • Do not promise a guaranteed price that does not exist on the market.
  • Do not pass an ad off as an independent review without a disclosure where the platform requires one.
  • Do not send the link to people who did not ask for it: that is spam and complaints against your domain.
