Your own Telegram channel

Your own channel is an asset: a subscriber stays with you, and every new post brings visits for free. Below is how to launch a channel, what to publish and how not to turn it into an ad feed.

4 min read

Why your own channel#

  • Repeat reach. Win a person once — afterwards they see every post for free.
  • No dependence on algorithms. A post is shown to subscribers, not “if you are lucky”.
  • Trust accumulates. A subscriber who reads useful things for weeks is more willing to follow the link.

Launch#

  1. Topic and name
A narrow topic: prices, news and market reviews of skins. A name and description with the keyword “skins” help people find the channel in Telegram search.
  2. Design
An avatar, a clear description in 1–2 lines and a link to your domain with the label ?src=tg_channel in the description.
  3. Pinned post
In the pin: what is on the channel, how to sell skins and a link button. This is the main conversion point.
  4. The first 10 posts
Publish them before inviting people, so a new subscriber has something to read.

Content plan#

A rule of thumb: for every four useful posts — one with a call to go to the site.

DayWhat we publish
MonMarket news of the week: what rose and what fell
WedA breakdown of one item: price, dynamics, rarity
FriA useful tip on selling and avoiding mistakes
SunA call post: “check how much your inventory is worth”

Post types#

News

Game updates, price changes, market events. Quick and short.

Breakdowns

In detail about one item or collection: why it rises or falls.

Roundups

Top items of the week, the most expensive sales, rare finds.

Polls

Engage subscribers and show what interests them.

How to grow#

Mutual promotion

Agree with channels of similar size and topic to exchange recommendations. Pick close topics, not random channels: subscribers should stay, not unsubscribe the next day.

Paid ads in other channels

The fastest way to grow. Details — on the Telegram ads› page.

Channel roundups and catalogs

Telegram has folders of channels by topic. Getting into such folders gives a steady flow of real subscribers.

Cross-posting from YouTube and TikTok

In video descriptions invite people to the channel: “More breakdowns and news — in Telegram”. That ties your sources together and collects the audience in one place. See YouTube› and TikTok›.

Comments and chat

Turn on discussion and answer people. A live chat raises trust and retention.

Selling softly#

  • Add the link to the end of useful posts in one line: “Find out the price of your skins — link”.
  • Once a week make a separate post about the service: how the deal goes, what the seller gets.
  • Tell about the promo code›: a payout bonus is a clear reason to follow the link right now.
  • Show real reviews and real numbers, not promises.

What to watch#

  • Post reach relative to the number of subscribers. If it falls, the content has become boring.
  • Growth and unsubscribes. Sharp unsubscribes after an ad post are a sign there are too many of them.
  • Visits, requests, deals for the channel’s label.

Common mistakes#

  • Only ad posts — the audience unsubscribes quickly.
  • Boosted subscribers: zero reach, no sales.
  • Irregularity: the channel “freezes” and loses engagement.
  • Copying other people’s posts without reworking them.
Do not buy bots or “live” subscribers from boost exchanges. They bring neither reach nor sales, and the channel may be restricted.
