What TikTok gives#
- Reach without subscribers. A video is shown to strangers if it holds attention.
- Speed. The first results are visible in a few days, not months.
- A young gaming audience. Many of them own skins.
Account and profile#
- One account — one topicOnly skins and the market. If you mix topics, the algorithm will not understand whom to show you to.
- The profile bioIn two lines: what the channel is and what the viewer gets. Example: “I appraise CS2 inventories · Sell your skins for more ↓”.
- The link in the profileAdd a link to your domain with the label
?src=tt_profile. Use different labels for different accounts. - Pinned videosPin your three best: one about appraisal, one with a useful tip, one explaining how a sale works.
Video format#
- Vertical 9:16 video, 15–35 seconds.
- On-screen text: many people watch without sound.
- Large captions; do not cover the bottom of the screen with the platform interface.
- Dynamic editing: a change of shot or accent every 2–3 seconds.
Video ideas#
You show items and name the price. Viewers send you theirs — an endless source of content.
“This skin went up 40% in a week — here is why.”
What an item cost a year ago and what it costs now.
“3 mistakes when selling skins that cost you money.”
You debunk popular misconceptions about prices and fees.
A short video with screenshots of the process: how to sign in, choose items and get the money.
The first seconds#
A viewer has 1–2 seconds to decide whether to stay. A good hook is specifics and intrigue:
- “This skin costs as much as a new phone — and it sits in my inventory doing nothing.”
- “If you have this, you are losing money.”
- “A viewer sent an inventory, I did not expect that total.”
Do not start with a greeting or “hi everyone, my name is…”. Start with the main thing right away.
Link and call to action#
- At the end of the video say briefly: “Link in the profile — check how much your skins are worth.”
- Repeat the call in a pinned comment.
- Do not repeat the same call word for word in every video: vary the wording.
- Use a separate label if you run several accounts:
tt_main,tt_second.
More about labels — in Traffic links›.
Posting rhythm#
- At the start — 1–2 videos a day for 2–3 weeks so the algorithm learns your audience.
- Then you can drop to 4–5 a week, but do not stop completely.
- Post in the evening hours of your audience’s time zone: that is peak activity.
- If a video “takes off”, make a follow-up in the same format within 1–2 days.
What to watch#
- Completion rate. The main indicator. If people leave in the first seconds, redo the hook.
- Profile visits. They show whether the call to action works.
- Visits and requests per label. They show whether viewers get from the profile to a sale.
Common mistakes#
- Long intros and empty first seconds.
- Other people’s videos and music in violation of rights — the account loses reach or gets blocked.
- Too direct advertising in every video: the platform cuts such videos.
- Irregularity: after a break the reach drops.
